'God Has a Plan for All of Us'
better for us.” That one line changes everything. It tells us that the story isn’t just about the heroes of the past—it’s about us. God’s redemptive story didn’t end with them; it continues with us. We are part of a divine narrative that stretches from Eden to eternity. Our small acts of obedience today become threads in the tapestry of God’s much greater plan.
What’s even more astonishing is that Hebrews 11:40 says, “only together with us would they be made perfect.” That means that even the greats of the faith are, in some mysterious way, waiting on us. Faith isn’t meant to be a solo journey. Sin, at its root, is relational—it breaks connection. But redemption is relational too—it restores connection. God calls us not only to believe but to belong. Our faith is lived out in the context of community. Our worship, our trust, our obedience—they’re not just personal expressions of devotion, but contributions to the greater story of the Body of Christ.
Christianity is not a solo hike—it’s a team climb. We walk the path of faith alongside others, and sometimes that means stumbling together. Sometimes we see one another’s flaws and failures, but that’s okay. We aren’t called to perfection—we’re called to walk faithfully, together. When we gather to worship, when we pray, serve, and witness, we are joining a movement of God’s people that stretches across generations. Faith is always communal, always relational. God’s plan and our salvation are tied up in one another.
There’s another trap we often fall into: the trap of “someday.” We say, “Someday I’ll forgive,” or “Someday I’ll get serious about prayer,” or “Someday I’ll read the Bible, stop doom-scrolling, or finally walk to the altar.” But “someday” is a dangerous word. It sounds innocent, but it often just means “never.” Hebrews doesn’t say God hoped something better for us; it says God planned something better. That means our faith is meant to respond now—not later. God’s call is never hypothetical. It’s present. It’s real. It’s daily.
Maybe God has spoken to you, and you’ve been putting it off. Maybe you’ve felt the Spirit stir during a sermon, during a song, or in a quiet moment of prayer—but you pushed it aside. Maybe you’ve felt moved to kneel at the altar but held back because of pride or fear. Don’t wait for “someday.” That moment is now. Today is the day of salvation. Today is the day to say yes.
Faith isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about saying, “Lord, I’m in. Today. Use me.” Hebrews 11 reminds us that the people God uses are not perfect people—they are faithful people. Ordinary men and women who trusted an extraordinary God. And the story they started now continues with us.
We are a people of movement—willing to let the Holy Spirit do great things through our faith, our steps, and our service. We are a people of worship—responding with heart, soul, mind, and strength. We are a people of purpose—who don’t wait for “someday,” but live in God’s better plan, today. Because in the end, faith is not just what we believe—it’s what we do.
